A day at the beach.

This weekend we enjoyed a day at the beach with the girls. Watching their smiles as the waves crashed against us and splashed us was priceless. Watching Sarah try to catch crabs, and jellyfish and her continuous hunt for shells (can you believe an oceans beach without shells) brought joy to me. Even though we continued to put sunscreen on both of the girls and Chris, Sarah and Chris got a light pink color. I believe it is the fair skin and red hair, that makes their battle against the sun one that can not be won. Christen was a fish. She wanted to go back in and have the waves crash against us, even after we were both splashed in the face and mouth and knocked to the ground by the force of the waves. We never went deep at all, but the waves were a bit strong. We were expecting to meet up with the girls cousins but because of a slight set back their family was unable to do anything fun that weekend. :-( Sunday was a day at home, cleaning the room, and taking care of an oil change before a BBQ with Nana and Mark.

Bouncing Birthdays and Baby Boys!

This weekend was a fun summer weekend! Chris and I picked up the girls from camp Friday afternoon. We went shopping for gifts for the neighbor kids. Chris tried so hard to win both girls a stuffed angry bird from a game machine in the shopping bird, however, he only won one, so he felt the need to buy his peanut the bird she wanted.

Saturday was a rocky sort day. The girls went to the neighbors yard to play. The kids all went inside. Chris went to check on the girls just as they (and another neighbor) were being asked to leave. The kids decided it would be fun to toss popcorn at one another rather than eat the snack the mom so kindly got for them. The girls were very sad that they had to stay in the yard until the party because they has "NO ONE TO PLAY WITH". I know we were all kids once, and many of us had siblings. But why is it that we need that someone other than our sibling to play with?

FINALLY party time arrived! We went to Bounce U to celebrate the neighbor siblings birthdays. All of the children seemed to be enjoying themselves. Indoor GIANT inflatable bounce houses, obstacle courses and slides... what was there not to enjoy? In the second room, I had enough of being a grown up. I put on my socks and started racing the girls down the slide! After the party, the girls crashed in the truck! The nap was definitely needed, however, it didn't fully help the evening. The girls heard the neighbors in the pool, and wanted to swim as well, but they were not invited. This was very disappointing. Chris previously owned an inflatable pool, but gave it to the girls mom to set up at her house, and she hasn't done that yet, so the girls are sad they don't have their pool and sad they can't swim at Dad's because he "let's them play". (From the mouths of babes, also a long story I won't be explaining here).

Sunday was my nieces baby shower, she is expecting a baby boy August 11. I drove to RI while I left Chris and the girls with a long laundry list of things that needed to be done. *sigh* He had help coming to assist him fix the car that is in his garage (NOT HIS). There was an open house for his house (It's for sale if you are interested). With the open house, Chris and the girls had to be out for 2 hours, so they went to see Nana's new place. After the baby shower I couldn't stay away from CT. So rather than driving back to NH, I went back to Chris and the girls. The girls were invited to swim in the neighbors pool, this made them happy. One of the girls was sad because she was unable to catch a bunny. She really wanted a bunny for a pet, but when she tried to invite the bunny into her container the bunny ran away. The evening ended with sparklers in pajamas before bed time.

Archie (the dog) and I had to leave before the girls woke up, this morning. But as always Archie left some dog bones and a note in the girls lunch box. S asked if he would give them dog bones? :-) She sure does love animals especially her Cat (who eats bunnies) and Archie dog.
